Lectures, Trainings & Education

  • Truth & Reconciliation, International Human Rights

I have provided trainings, lectures, panels and educational presentations on my research and efforts on International Human RIghts - especially the impacts of Truth & Reconciliation impacts on global Indigenous and African communities. This includes interpretation of international policies such as the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Declaration of Rights for Indigenous People. I also have extensive background experience in education on United States’ domestic and International policies.

  • Indigenous World Views, Decolonizing Feminisms and Environmental Rights

I have extensive experience nationally training the worldview and identities of Indigeneity; from Sovereignty, autonomy, socio-economic diversity and impacts from systemic history (specifically within the United States.)

Being from matralineal Indigenous lineages on both sides of my ancestry (Tlingit, Mohawk and Seneca) I continually encourage greater understanding of the Indigenous roots and legacies of western Feminism. I encourage this narrative as a means to empower the intellectual properties and impacts of Indigenous wisdom.

Along with teaching the definitions and identities of Indigeneity, I have worked with educational and non-profit institutions to also instruct the protocols for gathering research with or ways to be in solidarity with Indigenous community efforts - that address human and environmental injustices.

  • Community Organizing and Non-Violent Direct Action

I greatly enjoy educating community and organizations on the regional/national histories of social justice and non-violent direct action.

In addition to education, I also provide intensive training on the safety, security, inclusion, marketing, communications, outreach/community engagement and program planning for social justice events such as marches, rallies, panels, fundraisers and non-violent direct actions. This includes topics such as solidarity efforts, impact versus intent, addressing ableism in social justice, accountability and grassroots campaigning.

  • Hip Hop Storyteling and Movements

Growing up in an urban community of color, leading to my involvement with the organization 206 Zulu, has inspired me to create local and international relationships as well as research on Hip Hop cultural impacts on society and social justice.

I have previously shared with diverse generational audiences on how Hip Hop historically and currently is impacting the African Diaspora, Indigenous and economically oppressed communities. I have also worked with youth on the fundamentals of Hip Hop as a critical art tool to creatively express grievances both constructively and therapeutically.

  • Restorative/Transformative Justice, Accountability and Peace Making Circle Practices in Conflict Resolution

I have been extensively trained on my methodologies and knowledge in both Peace Making Circles and greater Restorative/Transformative Justice. These methods are implemented in my roles in leadership and community, practiced by me in facilitating peace making circles and organizational accountability efforts.

These knowledges have been shared with me with permission to selectively train others, especially in communities and organizations wanting to practice healing and reinforcing accountability efforts. This can also include policy development, active bystander training, institutional healing, and in response to grievances /conflict.

  • Self-Care, Healing and Grief Work

With ongoing personal and community commitments to social justice, and accountability, it is vital to share my resources and research on traditional and adaptative ways to heal through ceremony and ritual. I have actively participated in/facilitated ceremonies and gatherings for wellness, grief, spiritual and emotional healing as well as self-accountability. Descending from leaders in social services and griefwork, I have a personal and cultural experience serving community in healing.
